Sunday I took a trip out of town. An 11 hour trip out of town to go shopping. It was interesting but really I could have done with maybe a 3 hour trip instead.
Gzhel is a town, area and type of pottery about 60 km outside of the city. There are several factories, a college for young people to learn how to paint the stuff and a TB sanitarium. I bought all the above for about $45.
Sounds like a great adventure! I love pottery and would be sorely tempted to get pots and dishes, but what a neat area to discover!
